EASIEST Bechamel Sauce / White Sauce
Easiest Bechamel Sauce / White Sauce – Great Base for Cheese Sauce, Lasagna, Macaroni & Cheese, Moussaka, etc!
Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp. Butter
- 3 Tbsp. Flour
- 2 Cups Milk
Instructions
- Melt butter on medium in a good size pot or pan (remember you will need to be vigorously whisking in 2 cups of milk).
- Add flour and cook for a few minutes until it’s pale golden-brown – this is called a “roux”.
- Increase heat to medium-high and bit-by-bit, add in the milk, whisking it in until it is all added and any lumps have been whisked into submission.
Notes
This makes an EXCELLENT base for many sauces, like cheese sauce for example (cheese or any other seasonings may be added after the bechamel sauce is ready.
