Crock Pot Chili Con Carne
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground Italian sausage or spicy Italian sausage
- 1 diced onion
- 1 chopped bell pepper
- 2+ cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 x 15 oz can of kidney beans , drained
- 2 x 15 oz can of pinto beans , drained
- 29 oz can of diced tomatoes
- 3 oz can of tomato paste
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp hot sauce (Frank's, Cholula, whatever you like)
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 8 oz can of tomato sauce
Instructions
- Brown all meat on stovetop
- Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic & cook until onion is translucent
- Transfer meat mixture to crock pot
- Add all beans
- Add diced tomato, tomato paste, beef broth, Worstershire sauce, and hot sauce
- Add chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper
- Add tomato sauce and gently stir
- Close crock pot lid
- Cook on low for 4-6 hours OR Cook on high for 2-3 hours

INSTANT POT: Instead of cooking low and slow in the crock pot, you can also put it all in the Instant Pot, hit the Bean | Chili button and it's all done in about a half-hour!
